Burford Lodge Hotel

We are the closest hotel to Jeremy Clarkson's new 'Farmers Dog Pub', less than a mile from our front gate! And yes fans of the hit Netflix series Clarkson's farm, can visit Diddly Squat, only a few miles away. Purchase some momento and have a lunch at these extremely popular attractions! Maybe you will be lucky enough to see Jeremy, Kalib or Lisa as they go about working a real farm.


Blenheim Palace


Birth place and home of Sir Winston Churchill. Blenheim Palace is a full day out in beautiful surroundings, gardens and this terrific house which has hoste presidents, Prime Ministers, Kings and Queens, with a historical story to tell. You will need a full day here.


Sudeley Castle


King Henry VIII had 6 wives who all but one, lost their lives as he seeked an male heir. The only surviving wife was Kateryn Parr. Visit her home at Sudely Castle, where she is buried, and learn of the history and wonder of old England, and bask in glorious gardens. Close by is the ruins of an ancient Roman Villa, also of historical importance. The straight lined Roman road is a marvel to see to this day.


Cheltenham


This classic Spa town is just a 35 minute drive away. The Cheltenham festival sees racers in their thousands and hotels get fully booked quickly, including us! 


Stow-on-the Wold&Moreton-in-the-Marsh


Just a short drive to these lovely villages where fans of Lord of the Rings might want to venture! Inspired by the church doors, Tolkien envisgae such a landscape and Hobbit house. Take yoour picture at the famous door. Tolkien himself frequented the local in Moreton in the Marsh, and to this day a huge mural hangs above the firplace in the pub where he often enjoyed a pint or two!


Warwick Castle


A short must drive away. Medieval castle built by Willam the Conqueror in 1068. Classic fortress perfectly preserved. Visit the dugeons, the house rooms and walk the turret towers. Extensive grounds and events take place throughout the year. Awe inspiring history you can touch and feel the past wash over you from the armory room to the ghost tower. 


Shakespeare's Stratford-on-Avon


A short drive and if you conbine this with Warwick Castle you will need an early breakfast ready for a full day! Boating on the river, the famous Shakespeare Theatre with play's regularly. Vist Anne Hathaway's Cottage and so much more at the home of The Bard, responsible for so much of our language in the English speaking world. 


Oxford


If you are from around the world then of course the famous university city of scholars is a must see. Visist the famous college houses, some even used for the Harry Potter films. Just 16 miles away.


Other landmark attractions


The area of the Cotswolds have so many places of interest, historical and of beauty. The village of Bibury, Chippin Norton, Broadway where you must stop and see inside the Lygon Arms Hotel. The Rollright Stones (cousin to Stonehenge), Kelmscott where William Morris made his home, and you can visit his house. We even have 'Crocodiles of the World' themed park attraction! Be careful not to be eaten by old salty or the Nile Croc! For military lovers the annual airshow in Fairford takes place just a few miles away, and of course we are just 13 miles from the Cheltenham Festival, the famous horse racing week. Just around the corner and a 3 minute walk away, visit the world renowned Burford Garden Centre. No ordinary garden centre where you can even listen to a pianist playing live!
